Ms. Silbernagel

Jaclyn Silbernagel is a new counselor at Orono and has only taught one year previously to coming to Orono, at Sauk Centre. Silbernagel went to University of Minnesota Duluth and received her degree in Psychology and then went to St. Cloud State University to get her Master’s in school counseling.
Silbernagel interned at Orono High School in the 2014-2015 school year so she had already learned the ropes, therefore transitioning has been smooth.

“My previous experience here has helped and the support from all of my team members,” Silbernagel said. The last school that Silbernagel taught at had smaller class sizes, about 85 students, but she had grades seven through 12.

Silbernagel didn’t just apply here because it was job; she said there was a deeper reason. “The community as a whole. The students are wonderful and the staff are supportive. There is a respect around the culture at school,” Silbernagel said. She is looking forward to getting to know all of the students that she gets to take on this year.
