Virginia Sherrill took the place of Karla Heussner in the math department this year. Sherrill attended college at North Central University and studied secondary math education minoring in theater. She previously taught at Christian Life Academy in
Farmington, Minnesota for one year.

At Orono, Sherrill is teaching Algebra II and Algebra B which are mainly freshman and sophomore courses.

She said that “The character program and the district,” drew her to Oroon Schools. “It’s in a good area and I wanted to live closer to Minnetonka and the lake,” Sherrill said.

This school year Sherrill said she has a lot to learn about Orono and a lot to embrace. I love to go to sporting events and I am looking forward to going once my show is over,” she said.

Sherrill has a love for theater and helps around the community in different theater projects. If she did not become a math teacher, she would have wanted to become a paleontologist, which you can see her love for it in the theme of her room.
