Ms. Ibs
Sara Ibs went to college at the University of Minnesota – Northwestern and then moved to Florida and attended University of South Florida to get her Master’s. She taught in Florida for nine years before she moved back to Minnesota and taught at the middle school last year.
“Students are really involved, students tend to challenge themselves by the classes that they take, the clubs they are involved in, and the leadership that the students have,” Ibs said.
Since Ibs lived in Florida for a long time, she hadn’t really heard about Orono when she saw that there was a job opening. She did research and asked around. She only heard great things about the Orono district.
Ibs said she agrees with everything that she has heard about Orono.
“It is a great place to be, students are welcoming, and teachers are great,”she said.
This school year Ibs is looking forward to getting to know the students better because the first month is an adjustment period, trying to learn names and the schedule. Ibs has learned the ropes and how to adjust to the school, as well as to the students and staff.
“The teachers are great; they are very passionate about what they do,” Ibs said.
