Julia Spacek, Layout Design
Staying involved inside and outside of the Orono High School walls, Copy Chief Julia Spacek has a lot going for her.
As a junior in high school, Spacek has already been a part of the Journalism I program and plans on taking Journalism II for her second time next year. Along with Journalism, Spacek is ambitious to try new courses including AP Psychology.
"I'm looking forward to finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and being able to see my hard work pay off," said Spacek.
With high school graduation in just over a year, she has already begun the exciting college search adventure. While searching, Spacek hopes to maintain her favorite sport, volleyball.
Not only is she a part of the OHS volleyball team, but she also plays club volleyball outside of school from November through July.
Some colleges that she has shown an interest in ar Concordia in St. Paul, University of St. Thomas, and will soon be visiting the University of Kansas.
While going through her process of the college search she hopes to maintain some aspect of journalism. "I think that it could be a possible major, but if not then hopefully something I can do as an activity," said Spacek.
Looking forward to her final year in high school, she hopes to have another exciting year with the Journalism II team and possibly attain a leadership role with The Spartan Speaks.
