Business Manager, Mackenzie Iversen, says that she joined journalism to improve her writing.

"Something about journalism one drew me in. I had heard that it improves your writing so I figured I should try," Iversen said.

In addition to improving her writing, she loves the creative freedom that comes with it. That everyone is encouraged to take risks.

This is Iversen’s first year as in journalism two. She is the business manager because she a business as a major in mind. In addition, Iversen says that it is a good fit because she wants to major in marketing.

"My favorite articles to write are world news and reviews. I love straight up facts, there are just easier to write about rather than interviews. I hate interviews because they don't come as naturally to me," Iversen said.

In the fall Iversen plans on attending University of St. Thomas in St. Paul with a major in marketing management and a minor in geography.
