Haiku is an authentic Japanese inspired restaurant with two locations; one is located at the University of Minnesota in Stadium Village and the other is located on Washington Avenue, both in Minneapolis.

When a customer walks in, they are greeted promptly with many options of where to sit. Haiku offers a large dining area with booths and regular tables, a full length bar, and a large sushi bar, for those who would like to see their sushi being prepared in front of them.

The service came rather quickly with fresh glasses of water. The waitress came back from time to time making sure the plates were enjoyed and drinks were full.

Haiku has a menu filled with many traditional Japanese meals. There are salads and soups offered. They have a variety of appetizers such as tuna, calamari, rock shrimp tempura, vegetables, and many more. They offer around 30 different traditional sushi rolls and many different entrees. Eel, fluke, squid, salmon and crab are also offered here.

The Fuji Volcano roll consists of salmon tempura, cream cheese and avocado sprinkled with crab on the top. The Yum Yum roll is a roll focused on taste and texture. It is shrimp with mango. The mango gives the sushi a burst of much needed flavor.

The restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing, with many decorations and colors displayed around. Upon entering, there is a waterfall glass door. The room is brightened with colored bubble lights and displays. There is also a small water fountain that changes colors in the restaurant.

Haiku also offers delivery services and online ordering for takeout.

Haiku is very similar to the Sakana Sushi restaurant located in downtown Wayzata in the way of how their serve their food, the atmosphere, the menu, and the overall ambience of the restaurant.
