Houseparty Breaks the Block
News apps are constantly breaking the internet. Recently a new app called Houseparty became popular.
Houseparty is a new way to videochat with more than one person at a time. It allows users to friend other users, and when they are “in the house” users can chat each other. Want to talk to more than one person? No problem. Join a room with up to eight users at a time. To join a room, one has to be friends with at least one person in the room. The app warns of “stranger danger” if there are people you do not know in the room.
This new take on video chatting has many advantages that other apps do not offer. Being able to talk to multiple people at once is something that other apps have yet to offer. Skype has had the ability to talk to more than one user at once, but not in this informal playful way.
“Houseparty is a really fun way to talk to friends, people a can join and leave the conversation whenever they want just like at a real party,” senior Helen McDonnell said.
As technology advances, the ways we communicate are changing. Houseparty is just another way to communicate with friends using the technology in our hands.
